Around The Resort

At The Westin Kierland, we celebrate the rich legacy of Arizona. Our hallways and grounds pay tribute to the people and landscape that shape the state's cultural heritage. Experience Arizona legacy in the Resort's descriptive plaques that share details of Arizona history, each written by state historian Marshall Trimble, a homespun Will Rogers.

As you explore the Resort, you will learn of Arizonans who greatly impacted the state's history. Discovery Hall, Expedition Hall and Visionaries Hall are named as such to honor those who created the Essence of Arizona, from river explorers like John Wesley Powell to Arizona Indian chiefs and heads of state. In these efforts, The Westin Kierland Resort desires carry on the spirit of those who came before us – visionaries who made Arizona what it is today.

Rare photographs, an ever-changing collection of paintings and commissioned artworks are predominantly displayed throughout the elegant hallways and venues, capturing the wondrous essence of Arizona for all to enjoy. A self-guided walking tour is available to lead you through the areas of The Resort that showcase our state's incredible history.
