The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa and its Troon-managed Golf Club are pleased to offer a woman positive experience to meet the growing population of savvy females who have discovered the personal and professional value of a game of golf. In fact, The Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) recently recognized Kierland Golf Club as a “women friendly” golf facility. The designation is based on a strict list of requirements that define playability of the course and customer experience for women. The Kierland Golf Club received the designation because it presents a fun, challenging, playable option for all golf skill levels and create an overall positive experience for women golfers. The EWGA provides a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced women golfers. Course • Kierland Golf Club is an easily walkable course featuring no forced-carryovers. The course layout provides a pace of play that enables nine holes to be played in less than two hours or 18-holes in less than four. • Each of the 27-holes at the Club features a variety of rated tee boxes that are flat, manicured and easy to access, enabling players to accommodate for the length of course they are comfortable playing. • Each player will be provided with a yardage book and plush towels on all air conditioned carts. Women's Instruction • Recognizing that women have a different approach to men when learning and playing the game, Kierland Golf Club prides itself on having two highly qualified female instructors on staff. Both are LPGA members with over 25 years of combined teaching experience between them. - Sandy LaBauve is a regular contributor to several national golf publications and is recognized as one of Golf for Women’s “Top 50 Instructors.” • Golf teaching professionals at Kierland Golf Club realize that each golfer has unique goals and objectives and therefore all instruction is personalized and the course offers flexibility to accommodate for desired length of play. Kierland Golf Club holds numerous women’s and family golf clinics that are completely customized to each participant and their respective goals. • In support of the ladies oriented golf instruction, ProFit golf equipment suppliers are on site at the club. This provides a full range of golf equipment that women can actively try before they buy. Individual needs can be met on-site e.g. shafts adjusted, grips changed etc. In one location at Kierland Golf Club, ProFit provides custom club fitting made to specifications based on data provided about the player and their golf game. Club re-shafting and repair. Computerized swing analysis to provide a detailed comparison of the swing to professional female and male touring golfers. • Westin Kierland’s FORE-MAX Training System provides a true comprehensive approach to improving driving distance and overall fitness. The exclusive program brings together traditional instruction, on-course play, fitness, training and nutrition. - Mike LaBauve works to create a program that blends the best of exercise physiology with top golf instruction. The result is a personalized work out program that is virtually guaranteed to increase driving distance and stamina on the course. Proven results range from very little change to a dramatic 20 mph and 60-yard increase. Service • Staff of the Kierland Golf Club has been specially trained to tend to the specific needs of their women guests – whether it’s course and facility orientation to rules of play or proshop services. • The ladies locker room at Kierland Golf Club has been equipped much like the facilities at the resort’s full-service spa. You’ll find luxurious changing facilities, including a shower area stocked with plush towels, hairdryers, toiletries and other spa amenities from the adjacent Agave Spa. • Top-brand ladies rental clubs are available at the golf shop and are refreshed every six months to ensure top-level conditioning. Additionally, the shop is stocked with a retail mix not found in traditional golf shops.
